Definitions

  1. “Organiser” refers to the owner of Perth Amateur Pole Championship competition; Diamond Dance.

  2. “Performer” is the name recorded on the application form.

  3. “Competition” refers to the Perth Amateur Pole Championship to be held in Perth 7 September 2024

Initial Selection Criteria

  • The Performer must be female.

  • The Performer must be at least 18 years of age.

  • The Performer must be living in Western Australia.

  • The Performer must submit a completed application form with

    • A photo for promotion (Please label this file with your name and choose a photo where your face is visible).

    • 1 minute performance video for judging.

  • The Performer must pay a $35 application fee which is non refundable.

  • The Performer may only submit ONE application.

  • Video submission requirements:

      1. Video is to be 1 minute long.

      2. Video is to be unlisted on YouTube, titled with the Performer’s name as written on the application form.

      3. The video should showcase at least 1 pole dancing combination and 1 dance sequence. 

      4. The video should have a theme clearly depicted. The theme does not need to be the same as the performance for the competition.

      5. The video must clearly feature the Performer, filmed in landscape orientation, 1 run through from start to finish with no editing, only feature the Performer and can include the use of up to 2 poles.

    • Entries close 2 February 2025.

    • Successful applicants will be notified via email and announced on social media by 8 February 2025.

Competition Rules

  1. For The Experienced Amateur; The Performer cannot have placed in a graded competition in Australia within the last 3 years. (Graded competitions include; Pole Unity, WAPC & MPDWA).

  2. For First Time competitors; you must not have ever competed in a pole competition.

  3. The Performer may choose the music for her show.

  4. The performance is no longer than 3 minutes.

  5. The Performer may join the audience before or after their show but cannot approach or communicate with the judges.

  6. The Performer may not perform nude or partially nude; G-strings or nipple covers are not permitted. 

  7. Shoes are optional. 

  8. Costume removal is permitted (no less than bikini coverage).

  9. Back up dancers are not permitted.

  10. Props must be pre-confirmed with the Organiser at latest 1 month before the competition date. 

  11. Flips are not permitted; including pole flips landing on the pole, on the stage or acrobatic flips.

  12. The use of fire or liquid is not permitted.

There are 2 divisions for the Perth Amateur Pole Championship; First Time competitors and Experienced competitors.

We are looking for clean, safe and entertaining shows, so bring us your favourite trusty tricks and perform your heart out!

Both divisions will be judged by the same criteria with winners for each division.
